Connect Pinterest to Figlix

Connecting Pinterest tells Figlix which account is the brand's. Pins are still made by you, from the title and description Figlix writes.

Connects as
Your Pinterest account. The card shows its @name.
Who can connect it
Whoever holds the Pinterest account. While Figlix's app is in Pinterest's trial access, Pinterest allows only accounts Figlix has listed to connect.
Afterwards
Figlix confirms the account and shows its name on the card. Figlix writes each Pin's title and description. You post them yourself, from the copy buttons on each item or from the campaign pack.

Before you start

  • Be signed in to pinterest.com as the brand's account, a business account if you have one.

Connect it

  1. Open Connections

    In Figlix, open Connections in the left menu, under Setup. Every channel has a card, and the card says what is true right now: Not connected means nothing is attached yet.

  2. Click Connect on the card

    If the card shows How to set this up instead of Connect, the platform has not been registered for your Figlix yet. That is done once by whoever runs your workspace, and the card tells them what is needed; nothing on the card will connect until then.

  3. Allow it at the platform

    Figlix sends you to the platform's own page, which asks whether to let Figlix act on the account. Sign in there if it asks, read what it lists, then choose Allow or Continue. Cancel brings you back with nothing changed.

    Pinterest shows the permissions with a Give access button.

  4. Back on Connections

    The card now reads Connected with the account's name, and a green note at the top says so. There is nothing to paste and no key to copy.

Connections is at app.figlix.com/connections, once you are signed in.

What Pinterest asks you to allow

  • See your account and boards: so the card can name the account.
  • Read and create Pins: what a posting connection is made of, asked for now so a connection never has to be made twice.

If Figlix says…

A connection that does not go through says why, in a red note at the top of Connections. These are the notes Pinterest can lead to, word for word, and what each one means.

On any channel

  • This sign-in link has already been used or was never issued. Start again from Connections.

    The link Figlix made for this connection was clicked twice, or belongs to an older attempt.

    What to do: Click Connect on the card again; each click makes a fresh link.

  • This sign-in took too long and has expired. Start again from Connections.

    A connection has ten minutes from the Connect click to come back. This one took longer, usually because the platform's sign-in was left open in a tab.

    What to do: Click Connect again and go straight through.

  • This sign-in was started by a different account. Start again from Connections, signed in as yourself.

    Someone else in your workspace clicked Connect, and the platform sent the result to your browser.

    What to do: Start it yourself from Connections, or ask them to finish what they started.

  • The provider did not authorize Figlix: …

    You chose Cancel at the platform, or the platform does not allow Figlix for your account. The rest of the sentence is the platform's own reason.

    What to do: Read the platform's reason. If you cancelled, click Connect again when ready; if the platform refused, the reason says what it wants.

  • The provider sent the browser back without a code. Start again from Connections.

    The platform came back without finishing its side, which happens when a tab is closed or a page is reloaded mid-way.

    What to do: Click Connect again.

What the card can say later

Reconnect needed
The platform stopped accepting Figlix's access, usually because it ran out or a password changed. Click Reconnect and allow it again.
Fewer permissions
The connection works, but it was allowed less than Figlix now needs on this channel. The card says what is missing. Disconnect, then Connect, and allow everything the platform lists.
Problem reported
The platform answered with a complaint the last time Figlix used the connection. The message on the card is the platform's own. Click Retry. If it repeats, tell whoever runs your workspace what the card says.

How long the access lasts

Pinterest's access has no fixed end. Figlix renews it by itself while the connection is in use, and the card's Check button proves it still works.

To disconnect

On the card, click Disconnect. Figlix deletes the access the platform gave it, immediately, and the card goes back to Not connected. Everything you have written stays, and you can connect again at any time.

Three things that are always true

  • Connecting never publishes anything. Approval is one step and posting is another: a person posts an approved item from the Calendar, or you post it yourself.
  • Figlix never sees or stores your password. The platform gives it a limited key, which is stored encrypted and deleted the moment you disconnect.
  • Every connection, disconnection and check is on the record, with who did it and when.
