Help · Setting up a brand's accounts

Set up Facebook for a business

What Facebook asks for when a business sets itself up, and what Figlix has written for each of those boxes before you start.

What you are making
a Facebook Page, inside a Meta Business portfolio
Who does it
You do. Figlix writes what you will be asked to type; the account is made on Facebook's own screens, signed in as you.
Afterwards
Once the account exists, connect it in Figlix and it can post approved items for you from the Calendar.

Before you start

  • A personal Facebook account, signed in. A Page is owned by a Business portfolio rather than by a person, so the portfolio comes first — Figlix's connection and Instagram's link both go through it.

The steps, in Facebook's order

  1. Create a Meta Business portfolio

Business settings → Create a portfolio. Name it after the business, with the business email address.

  2. Create the Page

The name below, up to three categories, and the bio. A Page is public as soon as it exists.

  3. Set the username

Open the Page → Settings → Page setup → Username. Try the handle below; if it is taken, the next one.

  4. Add the profile picture and cover

The profile picture shows as a circle; the cover is cropped to 820 × 312 on a desktop and narrower on a phone, so keep the subject in the middle.

  5. Fill the About

Edit details: the short description below, the website, contact details and hours.

Each heading opens Facebook's own page. In Figlix the same steps sit beside the words it wrote, at app.figlix.com/presence.

What Facebook allows in each box

These are Facebook's own limits, read from its help on 2026-09-22. Figlix writes each of these from your Brand Brain, inside the limit, so nothing is refused after you have pasted it.

Page name · up to 75 characters
The brand's name as people search for it.
Bio · up to 101 characters
One line under the name: what the brand does and for whom.
Short description · up to 255 characters
Shown in search results and on the About tab: what you offer, where, and why someone would choose you.

The handle

Facebook allows 5–50 characters, letters, numbers and periods. Figlix works one out from the brand's name under that rule rather than asking a model to invent one, and offers the next one when the first is taken. For Wedyesday, the brand every example on this site comes from, that is wedyesday.

Facebook refuses generic words and anything that reads as a web address.

The pictures it asks for

Profile picture · square, at least 320 px
Square, at least 320 pixels; shown as a circle.
Cover · 820 × 312
820 × 312 on a desktop; the middle 640 × 312 is what a phone shows.

Once the account exists

Once the account exists, connect it in Figlix and it can post approved items for you from the Calendar.

A new account with nothing on it reads as abandoned, so Figlix also writes the first post from the Brand Brain — ready for somebody to approve.

What is always true

  • Figlix does not create the account. Every platform here forbids automated signup, and it would need your password — so you make it, and Figlix has the words ready before you are asked for them.
  • The words come from your Brand Brain, so they say the same thing everywhere, in the length each platform allows. You edit anything you like before you keep it.
  • The handle is worked out from the brand's name under the platform's own rule, not written by a model. If it is taken, the page offers the next one.
  • Nothing is sent from Figlix to the platform. You paste what you kept into the platform's own screen.
