Help · Setting up a brand's accounts

Set up Pinterest for a business

What Pinterest asks for when a business sets itself up, and what Figlix has written for each of those boxes before you start.

What you are making
a Pinterest business account
Who does it
You do. Figlix writes what you will be asked to type; the account is made on Pinterest's own screens, signed in as you.
Afterwards
Figlix cannot post to Pinterest for anyone yet, so an approved Pinterest post is copied out of the Calendar and posted by hand. Everything up to that is the same.

Before you start

  • The business email address. A personal account can be converted, but a new business account keeps the brand's boards on their own.

The steps, in Pinterest's order

  1. Create the business account

The name and the username (the handle below); Pinterest asks what the business does as it goes.

  2. Fill the profile

Settings → Edit profile: the name, the About below, the website, and the profile picture.

  3. Claim the website

Settings → Claimed accounts: a tag on the site or a DNS record. Pins saved from a claimed site carry the brand's picture and name.

  4. Make the first board

Your profile → Boards → Create. Name a board for what the brand makes or the occasion, not for the brand itself — that is what people search.

Each heading opens Pinterest's own page. In Figlix the same steps sit beside the words it wrote, at app.figlix.com/presence.

What Pinterest allows in each box

These are Pinterest's own limits, read from its help on 2026-09-22. Figlix writes each of these from your Brand Brain, inside the limit, so nothing is refused after you have pasted it.

Name · up to 65 characters
The name shown on the profile and on every pin.
About · up to 160 characters
160 characters (newer profile settings allow 500; 160 fits either): what the brand makes and for whom.

The handle

Pinterest allows 3–30 characters, letters, numbers and underscores. Figlix works one out from the brand's name under that rule rather than asking a model to invent one, and offers the next one when the first is taken. For Wedyesday, the brand every example on this site comes from, that is wedyesday.

The pictures it asks for

Profile picture · square, at least 320 px
Square, at least 320 pixels; shown as a circle.

Once the account exists

Figlix cannot post to Pinterest for anyone yet, so an approved Pinterest post is copied out of the Calendar and posted by hand. Everything up to that is the same.

A new account with nothing on it reads as abandoned, so Figlix also writes the first post from the Brand Brain — ready for somebody to approve.

What is always true

  • Figlix does not create the account. Every platform here forbids automated signup, and it would need your password — so you make it, and Figlix has the words ready before you are asked for them.
  • The words come from your Brand Brain, so they say the same thing everywhere, in the length each platform allows. You edit anything you like before you keep it.
  • The handle is worked out from the brand's name under the platform's own rule, not written by a model. If it is taken, the page offers the next one.
  • Nothing is sent from Figlix to the platform. You paste what you kept into the platform's own screen.
